OUR HISTORY
Eagle’s Nest Berry Farm is a fourth generation family farm started in 1999 by retired Captain Larry C. Richardson, USN and his wife, Martha Richardson. After his sudden death in 2000, his wife and children continued their dream of establishing a blueberry and blackberry farm in Jackson Springs.
It began as a traditional tobacco farm by their great-grandfather Herbert R. Currie in early to mid 1900’s. The family began transitioning their acreage from tobacco to timber, watermelons and cantaloupes in the 1980's, leased the property briefly, and began the berry production operation in 1999. Most of the acreage is in timber production.
The farm has grown to nearly 3000 blueberry bushes and hundreds of blackberry plants. Eagle's Nest Berry Farm also grows a wide variety of produce from tomatoes to lettuce.

In 2017 an Outdoor Learning Environment “The Landing at Eagle's Nest Berry Farm” was added to help educate children on where their food comes from and give them the experience of picking their own berries and/or vegetables.
